Friday the 13th Bike Ride

This morning’s half metric-century ride was a mixed bag of very slow riding, intermediate-pace riding with four other cyclists, and fast surges with my riding partner, Sandy S.

I rode the first four miles at a 5.5 mph pace escorting my wife while she ran and the last three miles at a 9.0 pace riding around our gated community in order to reach the distance of 50 kilometers - hence the slow overall pace of 11.1 mph.

This morning's ride was basically devoid of excitement.  But maybe that’s a good thing, seeing as though today is Friday the 13th. There were no alligator sightings, no tiny dinosaurs crossing our paths, and no pitch-fork toting Jason hiding behind his hockey mask.

Nice overall ride on my 34th consecutive day in the saddle. (I sound like an old cow-poke during the Wild West era.)

Overall/Max Speed: 11.1 mph/22.7mph
