TEAM MEMORIAL BIKE RIDE

Nice, relaxed bike ride in the lanes of Weston, Florida with my wife.

After meeting up with Team Memorial in Weston Regional Park, my wife and I took up the rear behind three different pace lines. Not knowing some of the riders and their cycling habits, we felt like it would be much safer if we held onto the rear of the pelotons. Unsure if my wife could even keep up with the others, no matter the speed, we chose to lag far behind even the slowest group.

After riding 14+ miles by ourselves, we met up with the others at Publix Market on Glades just south of State Road 84. We probably had at least 35 to 40 bikers congregated in front of the chain grocery store. It was an awesome sight.

After chatting for a while at Publix, my wife and I headed out on our own for another 12 miles, arriving back in the regional park in plenty of time to drive home, make and eat breakfast, and then tune in to our favorite sports channel to watch the Miami Hurricane football team play Kansas State. Our Hurricanes are losing!

So far it’s been a wonderful day in paradise despite our football team not doing well.
